Ravon "Rae" Love is a proud Pontiac resident, community leader, and creative entrepreneur with a deep commitment to:
Recognized early as class president and one of Pontiac’s Leaders in the Making, Rae has spent over a decade working across the city in youth arts programs, nonprofit development, mental health advocacy, and small business coaching.
With 15+ years of experience in behavioral health—focusing on trauma, autism, and addiction recovery—Rae has led citywide mental health initiatives, including Pontiac’s only open mic dedicated to mental health awareness and creative healing. As a brand development coach, she has helped local entrepreneurs bring their visions to life, while also guiding nonprofits through workshops designed to expand their services and community impact.
Rae has collaborated on civic campaigns, supported grassroots movements, and built powerful networks across entrepreneurship, wellness, and the arts simply because she just loves her city... & will continue to do so.
Over the years, I’ve seen so many moments where something was missing—access, understanding, opportunity—and I’ve made it my mission to step in and help fill those gaps.
Whether it's connecting a family to resources, helping a young artist find their voice, or supporting a business owner in securing a grant, I believe in showing up where it matters most.
Everything I do is rooted in service, healing, and connection. Whether I’m hosting open mics that amplify local voices, building programs for youth and families, or helping small businesses grow, my mission is always the same: to empower people with tools, love, and opportunity.
I believe libraries are more than books—they’re bridges. They connect us to knowledge, to each other, and to the futures we’re building. As someone who has worked in behavioral health, early education, business development, and community events, I’ve seen how powerful access can be.
Her mission is to provide strategies that amplify community voices and generate engagement for all residents. If our goal is to cultivate literacy and wellness, it's important to ensure our library is a hub for education, creativity, and connection.
Thank you for walking with me. Let’s keep building together.
With love,
– Rae
